As 2016 commences, Karrimor has been speaking to both its ambassadors, James Cracknell and Helen Skelton to find out what their New Year’s resolutions and plans for the coming year are.

James Cracknell told Karrimor he has three main resolutions this year. “Firstly I want to see more sky than buildings! I also intend to find, experience and try to enjoy surviving in a different climate. But most of all, I want my kids to get a true taste of the outdoors. I’ve been lucky enough to be a small dot in a huge landscape; the Amazon, Atlantic and Antarctica experiencing the extreme environments. I want to make sure I remember that others, in particular my kids, haven’t yet and I want them to experience as much as possible.” James also told us he’s got a potential challenge in the pipeline for this year, no details as of yet but we’ll keep you posted!

Helen Skelton also has a very exciting 2016 ahead! The recent move to France with her husband, Richie Myler and seven month old baby, Ernie means her time is going to be pretty split between her new home and the UK. Helen told Karrimor, “I’m in the sea and on the sand every day at the minute… we’re also only an hour and a half from Pyrenees so we’ve managed to spend some time in the snow too. Between the beach and the mountains I’m living in my Karrimor down jacket!”

On the work front, Helen revealed that her big work focus this year is the BBC Gardening Show. Alongside this she is also hoping her second book will be published. Helen told us, “I’m editing at the moment so it’s on course to be out in the Summer. Look out for Amy Wild Antarctic Adventure!” Helen is also hoping to be running the London Marathon in April, she admitted to us that she’s struggling to find time to put the miles in currently however she’d like to think she’ll find a way to be there.

Further to this already full schedule, Helen also told Karrimor she aims to hone in on her French, dust off her snowboarding skills and tick off some mountains. Watch this space, 2016 is going to be an adventure packed year!

Happy New Year from James, Helen and the Karrimor team!
